Thomas Oosan

Thomas Oosan is an Associate AF Mpanga Advocates, and a member of our Dispute Resolution Department.

Before joining the firm, Thomas was an Associate at Mubiru-Musoke, Musisi & Co. Advocates where he mainly handled litigation for the firm. Thomas also previously worked as a Legal Officer at Equity Bank (U) Limited where he handled the Bank’s in-house legal work including commercial litigation, banking and finance, commercial transactions and advisory, among others.

His practice therefore extends to commercial litigation, banking & finance, corporate & commercial transactional advice, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, company secretarial, regulatory advice, land transactions, domestic relations and employment.

Thomas handles litigation on behalf of the firm’s clients including NCBA Bank, Equity Bank (U) Limited, DFCU Bank Limited, Multi-choice (U) Limited, Experian CRB Limited, Century Bottling Company Limited, Absa Bank (U) Limited, Stanbic Bank (U) Limited, among others.

Thomas has an LLB (Hons) degree from Uganda Christian University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.

Relevant Experience

• Prepared for presentation to the Board of Mengo Hospital, a legal opinion in respect to the re-organization of schools under Mengo Hospital, to form a Tertiary Institution.
• Conducted a legal audit of Century Bottling Company at the Company’s two sites in Namanve.
• Succesfully secured bail for an employee of Century Bottling Company accused of a Traffic offence.
• Realised the security, by sale, of proeprty that was pledged to dfcu Bank Limited.
• Succesfully convinced court to dismiss a suit of defarmation against dfcu Bank Limited for having abated.
