
Anne Ruth Nakiwala is a commercial lawyer at AF Mpanga Advocates, specialising in
insolvency, recoveries, and strategic corporate advisory. Her practice spans commercial
disputes as well as corporate and commercial advisory work, where she handles mandates
in banking and financial services, commercial contracts, and regulatory affairs. Anne acts
for corporate entities on a broad range of legal and transactional matters, including
compliance and risk, legal due diligence, and providing preventative legal training to senior
management teams.
Within the banking and finance practice, she manages key institutional accounts, oversees
large-scale recovery portfolios, and supports the perfection of high-value security
documentation. In litigation, she represents clients in commercial and banking disputes
before the High Court of Uganda and specialised tribunals. Her approach is defined by

She holds a Bachelor of Laws from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal
Practice from the Law Development Centre. She is a member of the Uganda Law Society
and the East African Law Society.
